We created this for a double-bill for two bands (one of them, Agents Provocateurs, is mine). Because of the venue, I thought it would be cool to do a riff on the Grindhouse style of graphics – raw, crude, and unstructured, with a kind of 1960s, over-the-top vibe. We started with a shot of a box of Animal Crackers, and tricked up the typography for Soul Circus, then used the type for their side that echo’d the style of some of their earlier posters. The Agents side came from an existing design. The rest of the work, we did in Photoshop.
