Old houses – really old houses are cool. Except for the fact that living in one is like living with a favorite aunt whose only hobby is visits to a phalanx of doctors on a weekly basis. Be that as it may, old homes are hip. The Munger Place Historic District is a Dallas-area group that works to preserve homes built there around the turn of the last century. Each year, they hold a tour to raise money for things like landscaping and neighborhood signage. We created this poster, along with designs for flyers, tickets, and other collateral for the event. We went for a retro feel, using type authentic to the period, and artwork that we filtered in Photoshop to give the appearance of engravings. The poster was such a hit, the group ended up selling them at the event – and selling out what they had on hand.
